The FC Barcelona basketball team and Yoan Makoundou have reached an agreement for the French player to sign for the Club until 30 June 2028. The 26 year old 2.07m forward arrives from AS Monaco and will bring energy and athleticism to the squad.

Makoudou is a French international who started his career at Cholet Basket where his excellent performances led to a debut for the national team in a qualifier for the 2023 World Championships. A move to AS Monaco brought a Euroleague debut as the team from the principality made the Final Four in 2022/23 as well as winning the league and cup double in France.

A loan spell with Budcnost Podgorica in Montenegro was followed by another with Turkish club Turk Telekom Ankara. A return to AS Monaco last season saw Makoudou join Chinese team Fujian Sturgeons half way through the campaign. The forward returned to AS Monaco for the decisive play off phase of the domestic season helping the team to another league and cup double.

Born in Melun in the south east of Paris on 9 August 2000, Yoan Makoundou comes to Barcelona to bring his versatility to the blaugranes' inside game. The Frenchman can play in several different positions and has plenty of room for improvement given his youth, and is set to be key part of coach Aleksander Sekulic's Barça squad.
