The Club and ex-Barça player reach an agreement for the Brazilian to represent Barça at institutional and social events as well as join the Barça Legends

FC Barcelona and Juliano Belletti have reached an agreement for the Brazilian to become an ambassador and representative for the Club at different events over the next few years, as is already the case with Ronaldinho and Abidal.

Juliano Belletti, who played in the Barça Legends friendly against Manchester United at the Camp Nou, will join the project for ex-players to contribute to the globalisation of the Barça brand and its values through playing football matches around the world. Moreover, the Club and the Brazilian will collaborate in institutional and Social Area events as well as activities linked to the FCBEscola.

Five trophies as a blaugrana

Juliano Belletti arrived at Barça in the summer of 2004 and played for the first team for three seasons until 2007. In total, he made 107 appearances, scoring a single, yet historic, goal at Saint Dennis. That strike earned FC Barcelona a 2-1 victory over Arsenal in the final of the Champions League and secured the trophy for the second time in the Club’s history.

The Brazilian won five trophies as an FC Barcelona player, namely two league titles, the aforesaid Champions League and two Spanish Super Cups.

FC Barcelona ambassador, Juliano Belletti’s statements:

“It is an honour and a pleasure to be able to represent the most important football club in the world. We know the goal in Paris was important, but in 2006 other things happened at the Club and that is why I am here. Now I have a different job, to try and expand the Barça brand around the world and demonstrate that FC Barcelona is about a lot more than just football.”

“Barça always tries to do something special in all countries, that is why we have been to places like Uganda, Greece, Japan and the United States. The Club also organises charity events like the latest Legends match and I want to be a part of it. Barça has all of these values and I want to help everyone understand and share them.”
