Dika Mem arrived at Barça in the summer of 2016 as one of the most promising right-backs on the planet. His evolution has not disappointed, as he is now a handball star that all rivals fear.
The right back has never ceased to progress as a handball player. Unlike many others, Mem was a late starter, learning how to play at the age of just 13. His brothers are basketball players.
Dika Mem began his career with French club Eaubonne, where he played until he was 15 years old. The following two seasons he was at Polo Espoirs before one season at Saint Gratien. He made the jump to the handball elite at the age of 17 and in the 2015/16 season he made his debut with Tremblay. In his first season in the LNH, Mem scored 93 goals in 25 games. Prior to that, he had already tasted top competition, becoming a European champion with the U18 French National Team. Mem signed with FC Barcelona for six seasons, beginning in 2016/17.
Since his arrival at the club he has become one of the best players in the world. In his second season at Barça the Frenchman scored 107 goals in 29 matches in the league, 3.7 per game.
Mem has been able to win petty much all there is to win in handball with Barça. In 2020/21 he won the Champions League with Barça and scored 133 goals in 31 matches in the ASOBAL League.
The following season saw the Frenchman claim a domestic quarter of titles and in 2022/23 he another won five trophies. In 2023/24 and 2024/25, now captain of the side, Mem led the team to more success and was named best right back in the ASOBAL league in 2024.
Dika Mem is a lefty who stands out for his ability to shoot and for his physical strength. The young Frenchman has constantly improved and has handled each challenge thrown his way with skill and gusto.
