Lucas Digne

Digne is a left back who likes to get forward but is also an accomplished defender in his own half

Lucas Digne is a defender born in Meaux (France) who came to FC Barcelona in time for the 2016/17 season to reinforce the left of the park. A product of the Lille youth system, he joined PSG in 2013 and spent two seasons there before going on loan to AS Roma in 2015/16, with whom he faced FC Barcelona in the Champions League group stage.

Despite his youth, Digne came to Barça with more than a century of pro games behind him, and had already established his name in the football world. He played for France at the 2014 World Cup and 2016 European Championship, having played at every youth level for his country, with which he won the U20 World Cup in 2013.

FC Barcelona announced the transfer of Digne on 13 July 2016, and he was presented to fans and media the very next day, which also happened to be the French National Day.
