The new season is just around the corner and FC Barcelona are preparing for official competition once more.

La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup are the highlights of the August schedule with the first game against Real Madrid on the 13th, at the Camp Nou (10.00pm CET).

The return will be three days later, on August 16, at the Santiago Bernabéu (11:00pm CET), where the first title of 2017/18 will be on the line.

Ernesto Valverde’s league debut is against Betis at the Camp Nou on August 20, kick-off 8.15pm CET.

At the start of last season Barça won 6-2 against the team from Seville, and they'll try to repeat that level of performance again.

On August 26 (kick-off 6.15 p.m. CET), the first-team close out the month with a trip to Alavés, whom they beat 3-1 in the Copa del Rey final.
