The Colombian artist speaks about the agreement between the Barefoot Foundation, the Barça Foundation and the 'La Caixa' Foundation to build a school in her home country in the city of Barranquilla

FC Barcelona remain heavily committed to the battle again child poverty. For that very reason, the FC Barcelona Foundation and the ‘La Caixa’ Foundation have come together with the Barefoot Foundation in order to build a new school in Barranquilla, Colombia.
The international artist and Barefoot Foundation founder Shakira took time to speak the Club’s official media to give her opinion on this new project. “FC Barcelona is a great example of philanthropy. I don’t know of another sports club that works on so many projects and is involved so heavily with children. For me it is a pleasure and an honour,” she said.
Of the project, the Colombian singer continued: “Barça is setting a great example and I hope that it serves as inspiration for other institutions, businesses and both public and private companies.”
“We live in a globalized world and we need to invest in children if we want to have a prosperous world. Helping children is the most effective way to eradicate poverty,” she concluded.
