Football is a game of details, each with a story to tell. Gestures, rituals, celebrations... and messages too. This Sunday 25 October, several Nike-sponsored FC Barcelona players will take to the pitch for El Clásico wearing some very special boots. The new collection features an elegant, minimalist design, but what really sets these boots apart are the personalised messages each player will carry onto the pitch.

The new Nike design is available across all four of the brand's boot ranges: Mercurial Vapor, Mercurial Superfly, Phantom and Tiempo. The clean, sophisticated colour scheme offers a more understated look at a time when football boots are becoming increasingly colourful. White takes centre stage, with turquoise detailing on the uppers and soles adding a touch of contrast without sacrificing elegance.

For the Barça players, the launch is also an opportunity to express their identity and ambitions ahead of Sunday's big game. Several have chosen to personalise their boots with phrases that reflect who they are and what wearing the Barça shirt means to them.

Motivational messages with a Barça flavour

Rodri will wear the words "Nacido para esto" (Born for this), a statement of confidence ahead of the biggest occasions. Joan Garcia has chosen "Missió #1: Guanyar" (Mission #1: Win) for his Phantom boots, while Xavi Espart has opted for "El somni continua" (The dream continues), a nod to the journey still ahead of him.

Also wearing Phantom boots, Hamza Abdelkarim will display the Arabic inscription "هنا يبدأ التاريخ" (History starts here), looking to the future with ambition and excitement.

Among the Mercurial wearers, Alejandro Balde has chosen "Culer des del primer dia" (A culer from day one), summing up his lifelong connection with the club. João Cancelo, meanwhile, has gone for a simple but powerful declaration: "Barça, sempre" (Barça, always).

Frenkie de Jong's Tiempo boots will feature the words "Otra noche, misma ambición" (Another night, same ambition), reflecting the competitive mentality he brings to every game. Karim Adeyemi will wear "This is why I came" on his Phantom boots, while Gavi has chosen a phrase that perfectly captures his relentless determination: "El 100% no es suficiente" (100% isn't enough).

The new boots are not exclusive to the men's team, either. In fact, they have already made their mark in another huge game against Real Madrid. On 4 October, Clàudia Pina wore them for the first time in the Liga F Clásico and delivered an unforgettable performance, scoring four goals in a single game. It was the perfect debut for a collection that will also be worn by several Barça Femeni's players over the coming months.

Every player has a story. Every message has a meaning. And in a game as big as El Clásico, every detail matters. This weekend, several Barça players will be stepping onto the pitch with more than just a new pair of boots. They'll also be carrying a message with them every step of the way.
