Barça Atlètic 1-0 SD Logroñés: Last-gasp win
It doesn't matter when you score the winner as long as you score them! Barça Atlètic secured another three points with a dramatic 1-0 victory over SD Logroñés on Saturday, thanks to a last-minute goal from Juan Ybarra that keeps them top of the group.
Tough opposition
Manager Belletti had warned before the game that the gap between the teams in the table was misleading, and so it proved. Logroñés started boldly, forcing Iker Rodríguez into two early saves from a corner.
Barça Atlètic struggled to create chances but gradually grew into the game through sustained possession and Bisiwu's direct running. Argemí and Catovic tried their luck from distance, Aziz went narrowly wide, and Guillem Víctor had a late first-half opportunity.
Substitutions make the difference
Kluivert replaced Bisiwu at half-time and soon tested Kike Royo. Belletti then introduced Álex González, followed by Caicedo and Tunkara, both returning from injury.
The changes helped Barça pin the visitors back, but Royo produced two outstanding saves to deny Kluivert, while Campos also saw an effort cleared off the line. Logroñés looked increasingly content with a draw, but Barça kept pushing.
Ybarra wins it at the death
The breakthrough finally came in the 90th minute. Tunkara delivered a perfect cross and Juan Ybarra, just five minutes after coming on, finished first time to score his first Barça goal.
A hard-fought victory that keeps Barça Atlètic top of the table and extends their run of clean sheets.
