For Kerolin Nicoli, signing for Barça was "like a dream," the Brazilian explaining in an interview with the Club's in-house magazine, REVISTA BARÇA, that despite being happy at her former club Manchester City, when the chance came around to wear the Barça shirt, she did not think twice. "When I thought about all the things I could experience in Barcelona, I saw it was a great opportunity," says the striker. Settling in has been easy given how the rest of the squad welcomed the new signing, confirming everything former blaugrana and Manchester City team mate Leila Ouahabi had told her about the club.

Clear focus

Kerolin comes to FC Barcelona with a clear objective: "I want to win the Champions League and the league." Knowing that Barça are the team to beat, the Brazilian sees team spirit key to continued success. "We have to work really hard and be united. Only then can we be at our best," explains the blaugrana summer acquisition.

Of her new team mates, Kerolin highlights the welcome from Clàudia Pina: "She's always focused on the team and she has helped me a lot." The South American is also a big fan of team mate Patri Guijarro: "What a player! She is everywhere on the field. I am dumbstruck when I watch her play."

Qualities and the upcoming World Cup

The striker is also grateful to coach Pere Romeu who has asked her to be patient as she settles in. Kerolin is keen to work on her strengths: pace, taking defenders on and the ability to play anywhere up front. "With my pace we can do a lot but we have to take it slowly," she adds. In short, she admits, "I am happy wherever I can help the team."

A product of street football in Brazil, Kerolin thinks her style fits in perfectly with that of Barça. Looking to the future, the forward is looking forward to featuring the World Cup which will be played in Brazil next year. "It will be a very special moment for women's football in Brazil. We can set an example for all young women in my country," she concludes.
