Barça Academy Fukuoka has once again shown that its work goes far beyond the football pitch. Last Saturday 26 September, under the slogan "Smiles for Kumamoto", the club's official academy in the Kyushu region organised the Kumamoto Smile Match, an event open to all children in the region and designed to show solidarity and support the recovery of Kumamoto Prefecture following the earthquake last July, which caused structural damage and casualties.

Mixed teams were formed for the event, giving the youngsters the chance to enjoy friendly matches while promoting shared values, respect and cooperation between players of different ages and clubs from across the region.

Barça Academy Fukuoka has strong ties with the Kumamoto area, as it has a base in the city where training sessions with Barça Academy coaches are held every Sunday.
