The legendary Wembley stadium is the stage for an interesting blaugrana clash this evening. One of the key men for Thomas Tuchel's England side, Anthony Gordon is line to potentially come up against seven teammates in the Spain squad (Cubarsí, Eric, Rodri, Pedri, Fermín, Olmo and Lamine Yamal).

Mutual admiration

The prematch press conference saw praise being given both ways. Anthony Gordon spoke very highly about the current World Champions and Lamine Yamal, who he considers one of the favourites for the Ballon d'Or, while Eric García commented that Barça's first summer signing Gordon is "very noble and humble".

If Eric and Gordon both feature in the game, it will throw up an interesting match-up on one of the flanks.

Livakovic potentially in action

The game is part of the first matchday in Nations League Group A3 this week. England v Spain is the standout match in this first round of fixtures, as it brings together the 2026 World Cup semi-finalists and winners. The other teams in the group are Croatia and Czechia, who also play this evening, with Dominik Livakovic in the Croatia squad.
