Seven records set by the 7-2
The goals came thick and fast yesterday at the Spotify Camp Nou. FC Barcelona won 7-2 against Racing and remain LaLiga leaders after a run of seven wins at the start of the season in all competitions for the first time ever in the history of the Club.
The match against Racing also created many more interesting stats, as the 7-2 victory enters the history books.
28 goals in six LaLiga matchdays
The team now has 18 points in LaLiga, but what stands out is how they have done it. They've scored no fewer than 28 goals, at an average of 4.6 goals per game. That's the highest number of goals after six matchdays since the 1940/41 season when Sevilla scored 32, albeit when only winning four of their first six games. When it comes to Barça, they have smashed the Club record, which was the 23 goals scored in the 2011/12 and 1950/51 seasons.
The dynamic duo
Raphinha (9) and Lamine Yamal (7) have scored 16 of those 28 goals. Two players haven't scored 16 goals in the first six matchdays since the aforementioned 1940/41 season, which was achieved by two players from both Sevilla (Campanal and Torrontegui) and Atlético Madrid (Pruden and Campos). It's been 86 seasons since their achievement.
Raphinha the goal-getter
The Brazilian now has 11 goals including the two he scored against Feyenoord in the Champions League. That's 11 goals in seven games, a record for a Barça player since Mariano Martín in the 1943/44 season (who scored 12).
Lamine Yamal sets a personal record
Congratulations also go to Lamine Yamal, who hunted his goal until he finally scored towards the end of the match. He has now scored in four consecutive LaLiga match, setting a personal record.
Big win after big win
Barça have scored five or more goals in five of the seven games played this season. This is a first for Spanish football. Only Athletic Club (2-0) and Levante (2-4) were spared conceding at least five.
Scoring early sets the tone
One of the key characteristics of this 2026/27 Barça side is scoring early goals. They scored before the 10th minute against Racing for the fourth consecutive match. You don't want to arrive late to the stadium!

A 7-2 scoreline is pretty rare in football. However, you don't have to go back that far in Barça's case, as they beat Newcastle by that scoreline on 18 March in the Champions League last-16 return leg. You need to go back to February 1993 to find the last 7-2 in LaLiga though, when Cruyff's Barça overcame Sporting de Gijón.
