Another name to add to the list. After making quite an impression in preseason, scoring four goals to finish as the team's top scorer, Hamza Abdelkarim will remember 31 August 2026, and the game against Rayo Vallecano, as the day he made his competitive debut for FC Barcelona.

Thoroughly earned

The young Egyptian striker has received his reward for everything he showed in preseason and in training. He came on for Raphinha in the closing stages and was on the pitch when Barça scored their fifth and final goal to round off another victory.

Abdelkarim, who initially joined on loan last season before becoming a fully fledged FC Barcelona player this summer, has had an eventful few months. Despite having only played for the U19s at the time, he was called up for the World Cup and featured in several games. With barely any holiday, he then joined the squad for preseason and scored four goals.

First Egyptian for Barça, third in La Liga

Now he has enjoyed his first competitive minutes, becoming the first Egyptian ever to play for Barça, and only the third in the entire history of La Liga. The first was Mido, the former Celta Vigo player, while the second is Haissem Hassan, who played for Oviedo last season.
