The season gets under way at Spotify Camp Nou this Thursday. FC Barcelona are back at home in La Liga, where they did not drop a single point last season (across Montjuïc, the Johan Cruyff and Spotify Camp Nou). Athletic Club will be Hansi Flick's side's first home opponents at 9pm CEST, with the Catalans looking to build on their excellent start to the league campaign with a 5-0 win away to Elche.

Rodri called up

For the return to Spotify Camp Nou, the main attraction is a first call-up for Rodri, one of the club's major signings of the summer transfer window. Along with the Madrid-born midfielder, Hansi Flick has named the following players in his squad: Joan Garcia, Joâo Cancelo, Balde, Cubarsí, Fermín, Pedri, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Xavi Espart, Szczesny, Adeyemi, Christensen, Rodrigo, Gordon, Gerard Martín, Olmo, Bernal, Kounde, Eric, Fariñas, Abdelkarim and Eder Aller

So, the fans heading to the stadium for this one are in for a treat, with Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi also set to play their first official home fixture and to help extend an unbeaten home run that stretches back to 18 May 2025, when Barça suffered a 3-2 defeat against Villarreal at Montjuïc.
