August promises to be a busy month for FC Barcelona. The team will take part in a preseason triangular tournament, the Joan Gamper Trophy and three LaLiga matches during the first month of the official season. The return to Spotify Camp Nou is scheduled for Thursday 27 August at 9.00pm CEST.

First three-way game for 24 years

Barça will take part in a triangular tournament on the evening of Saturday 8 August in Udine. It will be the inaugural Friuli Venezia Giulia Cup, with Nottingham Forest and Udinese Calcio as the other participants. They will face both sides in two 45-minute matches at the Bluenergy Stadium.

It will be the first time in 24 years that Barça have played in a triangular tournament, having last done so in Amsterdam in the summer of 2002.

Final test at the Gamper

The Estrella Damm Joan Gamper Trophy at Spotify Camp Nou will provide the team's final preseason test. Egyptian side Al Ahly will be the opposition on Wednesday 19 August (8.00pm CEST), in Barça's first home match of the 2026/27 season.

The game will also be broadcast live on Barça Play and on FC Barcelona's official YouTube channel for users subscribed as YouTube Pack Premium Members.

Three Liga fixtures

Barça's official domestic campaign gets under way on 23 August (9.30pm CEST) against Elche at the Estadio Martínez Valero, where they have won on each of their last eight visits.

Because so many internationals were involved in the latter stages of the World Cup, Barça's opening day fixture, originally scheduled for the weekend of August 15–16, has been moved to midweek. As a result, they will host Athletic Club on Thursday 27 August (9.00pm CEST), in what will be their first official home match of the season.

To round off the month, Barça will face Rayo Vallecano on Monday 31 August (9.30pm CEST). It means they will play their first three official fixtures in the space of just eight days.
