María Pilar León Cebrián was a left-sided central defender who stands out for her strength and speed as well as her versatility, as she was also able play as a left-back. She is a technical footballer with great physical attributes that allowed her to support the attack when the team needed it.
Her first club was Zaragoza CFF where she debuted at 16 years of age,. Mapi played at Espanyol during 2013/14 before joining Atlético Madrid the following season. The 2016/17 campaign, in which Atleti claimed the Liga F title, was the one where she came to everyone’s attention.
After her arrival at FC Barcelona, 'Mapi' become a key reason for the team's successes, not just in defence but also in attack where she contributed vital goals season after season.
After nine successful seasons as a blaugrana, Mapi left the Club in 2026, bidding farewell with these words: "I leave with my heart full, proud of what we have experienced together and grateful for forming part of this great family. Barça has been my home for nine years and it will continue to be so."
