Barça Academy continues to grow and will now launch the Barça Academy Residency Querétaro in Mexico, which will become its second international residential project after the one in Arizona, which began in 2017.

This new initiative will begin activity next summer with residential summer camps, and from October 2026 tryouts will be held to select resident players. The residential programme itself will then start in September 2027, with students living on site throughout the year. This project will coexist with Barça Academy Querétaro, inaugurated in July 2024, which is aimed at players aged 6 to 18 and is non-residential.

Three cornerstones

Thew new soccer school will be built on three fundamental pillars to ensure its development and proper functioning in line with Barça standards.

The first pillar is Barça’s playing and training methodology, led by a technical director sent from Barcelona to guarantee the club’s recognisable style of play is taught. The second pillar is the academic education of all athletes at an international school accredited by the educational authorities of the United States and Canada. The third key element of the project is a top-level residential facility focused on the athlete’s overall development.

Three different teams

In its initial phase, Barça Academy Residency Querétaro will feature three teams: one made up of players born in 2012, another of those born in 2013, and a third for players born in 2014. Places will be limited, and the most talented players will be eligible for scholarships to support their stay.
