It was a performance for the ages by Barça. The Clásico against Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou saw Pere Romeu's side show no mercy, as they scored another six goals to match the first leg at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium, but this time it was in front of 60,067 FC Barcelona fans, who roared them on during a match that will go down in history (6-0).

Two recent Clásicos take the total to 300

12 goals in just 180 minutes of football for a hungry and ambitious team, who reached a figure that looked unachievable ahead of the knockout round. Barça were on 288 goals in Europe's premier club competition, but after six in both the first and second legs, that's now 300 goals in the competition. The honour of scoring number 300 went to Esmee Brugts, who scored the sixth goal in the 74th minute.

Marta Corredera with the first, Esmee Brugts with 300

The Dutch player jumping in celebration was one of the final acts of a superb match, and little did she know, but it brought up a new landmark for the team in the Champions League. It's been little over a decade since Marta Corredera scored the first goal in a 2-2 draw against Danish side Brondby at the Miniestadi on 16 October 2013. That was actually Barça's fourth match in the Champions League, as they hadn't managed to find the net in the first three.

The team then started to take flight in the competition, going on to win it three times, while smashing goalscoring records along the way. Those 13 years have seen them now move into fourth place in the goalscoring charts, only behind Lyon, Arsenal and Wolfsburg. Of those 300 goals, 10% have been scored by Alexia Putellas, who reached 30 after scoring in the Clásico.

41 different goalscorers

She leads the way, ahead of 26 by Aitana and 19 by both Jenni Hermoso and Graham Hansen. Another nine players have scored at least 10: Pina (18), Mariona (16), Oshoala and Pajor (13), Patri Guijarro and Salma (12), Lieke Martens (11), and Marta Torrejón and Rolfö (10). They are followed by a long list of 28 other goalscorers, comprising 41 in total.

24-1 in Clásicos

This all came in another display of superiority during the Clásico. The match on Thursday was the 25th time they have played Real Madrid and the results say it all – 24 wins and just one defeat. The difference between the two teams was also shown by three wins in one week for Barça, scoring 15 while conceding only two. Enough said.
