An exciting April ahead
An exciting April is in store for the blaugranes as domestic football returns following the recent international break. The fixtures kick off with the first of three games against Atlético, a La Liga encounter before their Champions League quarter-final with the Catalan derby against Espanyol at Spotify Camp Nou in between.
Three games against Atlético
Right after the international break, the blaugranes return to action with a league game away at Atlético Madrid, the first of nine fixtures remaining in the title race. After a heavy defeat in the Copa del Rey in the Metropolitano, Hansi Flick's will be looking for a win to at the very least maintain their lead over second placed Real Madrid who are also in action on Saturday 4 April.
Barça will be without Raphinha for the league game against Atlético and for the two subsequent games against Diego Simeone's side in the Champions League. The quarter-final tie kick offs with the first leg at Spotify Camp Nou and the return to come six days later in Madrid.
The derby returns to Spotify Camp Nou
The atmosphere at Spotify Camp Nou will be electric for the visit of Atlético in Europe and also for the visit of city rivals Espanyol in La Liga. Sandwiched in between the quarter-final against Atlético comes a league city derby at Spotify Camp Nou for the first time since 31 December 2022 when the two teams played out a 1-1 draw.
The weekend of 18/19 April will be a free one for the blaugranes as the Copa del Rey final between Atlético Madrid and Real Sociedad is taking place. The blaugranes final fixtures of April in La Liga see a midweek home fixture against Celta Vigo and a trip to Getafe the following weekend. If Barça can make it past Atlético in Europe then they will have the first leg of a semi-final against either Sporting Clube or Arsenal on Wednesday 29 April.
