It's close to April so that means the start of the decisive period for the 2025/26 season. When it comes to LaLiga that means Barça have just nine gameweeks to remain at the top of the table in order to retain their status as league champions. There are 27 points to play for after the international break and the blaugranes have a four point cushion over their closest challengers, Real Madrid.
The demands of the fixture list
That's the thing, albeit they also have the Champions League going on, with the aim of progressing from the quarterfinals, Flick's side have to keep at it in the domestic competition in order to seal a 18th league title for the Club. There are some very demanding games coming up for both clubs, and the first will be where Barça suffered their worst loss of the season, the Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium.
Nine finals in LaLiga.
The blaugranes will be away to Atlético Madrid for the gameweek 30 fixture, just four days before they face off against them again in the Champions League. Real Madrid will play away in Mallorca against a team who recently changed coach. Barça will then have a demanding derby against Espanyol at the Spotify Camp Nou sandwiched between the Champions League commitments, when the visitors will be looking to take points off their biggest rivals, while Real Madrid host Girona at the Bernabéu stadium.
Another home game then follows for Flick's side, this time against Celta de Vigo, who will also have been involved in European quarterfinal matches in the Europa League. Regardless of whether or not they went through, they will be striving to get back into Europe the following season, while the all-whites have another home match against relegation-threatened Alavés.
El Clásico in gameweek 35
Then comes a double header of difficult away fixtures for both sides. Barça first go to the proverbial tough place to go as they face Getafe before travelling to Pamplona to play Osasuna, while Real Madrid will play away to Real Betis and then Espanyol. That will bring us up to 34 matchdays and gameweek 35 is none other than the Clásico at the Spotify Camp Nou, which may prove decisive regarding where the title ends up.
If it is still up in the air, three matches will remain to determine the winners. Barça will be at the Mendizorroza stadium to take on Alavés, while Real Madrid will host Oviedo, who may already have been relegated. The sides from Seville will be the opponents in the penultimate gameweek, as it will be Barça v Betis at the Spotify Camp Nou and Sevilla v Real Madrid at the Sánchez Pizjuán stadium. Lastly, should the LaLiga title race go down to the wire, Barça will play the final match at the Mestalla stadium against Valencia, while Real Madrid will host Athletic Club.
