After the thrilling 7-2 win over Newcastle United at Spotify Camp Nou, FC Barcelona are into the quarter-finals of Europe's top club competition. It is the 25th time that Barça have made to this stage, 20 times in the Champions League format and five times in the old European Cup. For Hansi Flick it is a second quarter-final in just his second season in charge.

The blaugranes will be in action on 7/8 April and 14/15 April against either Atlético Madrid or Tottenham Hotspur.

Barça no strangers to the last eight

The blaugranes have made it to the quarter finals in each of the last three seasons, making their total 25 appearances, a record only bettered by two other clubs. Between 2008 and 2020 the team reached the quarter-finals in 13 successive seasons.

Record in the last eight

Without taking into account 1991/92 and 1993/94 when Barça made it to the semi-finals via a league phase, the blaugranes have made it past the quarter-finals on 16 occasions. The most recent came last season when Hansi Flick's team disposed of Borussia Dortmund to book a place against Inter Milan in the semi-finals.
