For the first time ever, the Barça Legends are playing a game in the United States. For this debut, Albert Ferrer’s side will take to the pitch at BMO Stadium, which holds 22,000 spectators, at 2pm local time (11pm CET) against Real Madrid Leyendas on Sunday 22 February. The match will be broadcast live on YouTube Premium.

This will be the third clash between the two sides this season, after Barça won the first meeting in San Salvador (El Salvador) and suffered a defeat in Costa Rica two weeks ago. After the Los Angeles match, the teams will face each other three more times in the coming weeks: Guadalajara (3 March), Santo Domingo (14 March) and Jakarta (14 April).

Ronaldinho and Márquez, main atractiones

Albert Ferrer is taking the following players to California: Jesús Angoy, Jordi Masip, Andreu Fontàs, Rafa Márquez, Marc Valiente, Martín Montoya, Juan Pablo Sorín, Fernando Navarro, Frederic Dehu, Roger Garcia, Marc Crosas, Gaizka Mendieta, Roberto Trashorras, Nolito, Jonatan Soriano, Saviola and Ronaldinho. 

Maxwell's debut

Brazilian Maxwell will be making his first appearance for the Barça Legends. The left-back played for Barça for three seasons (2009–12), making 89 appearances and scoring two goals. During his time in the blaugrana jersey he won two league titles, one Copa del Rey, one Champions League, three Spanish Super Cups, two UEFA Super Cups and two Club World Cups.

Intense institutional agenda

The Barça Legends will have a very busy schedule during their stay in LA. In addition to Saturday’s training session and a children’s clinic afterwards, the team will meet Barça fans at the facilities of the University of California. There will also be a meeting with various Barça supporters’ clubs from the United States and Mexico, as well as a reception with members of the Orfeó Català, who are on tour in the Californian city.

For their part, Real Madrid Leyendas have called up Contreras, Bizzarri, Agus, Tébar, Milla, Callejón, Negredo, Figo, Savio, Marcelo, Guti, Fernando Sanz, Barral, De la Red, Toni Moral, Balboa, Makelele and Nuñez.
