Hansi Flick appeared before the press on Tuesday ahead of Barça's Champions League match against Slavia Prague in Czechia on match day 7 of the league phase of this season's competition. "It's the Champions League and there is pressure in every game," said the Barça coach ahead of the challenge facing his team.

The German coach has done his homework on Wednesday's opponents: "They defend well and press high up the field, and that is what I expect of them." Flick highlighted the fact that Slavia have not played since mid-December with the Czech league on a winter break as well as pointing out the danger they pose. "They like to attack and press and they are dangerous on the break. It will be a tough game and we will have to put in a Champions League performance. It will be key to be attentive to not losing the ball," added the Barça boss.

Adapting to the wintery conditions in Prague will be helped by preparations. "The training session on Tuesday evening will help us adapt and will be good for us," said the coach.

An objective

Short term goals for this season's competition were set out by Hansi Flick for his team. "We want to get to 16 points. We have potential and we are looking at each match to improve. We are a young team and we can all raise our game," claimed the boss.

Long term objectives were also mentioned: "Everyone wants to win trophies and the Champions League is one of those. It's an objective and we are hungry and ready for tomorrow." Asked about the disappointment in their most recent outing against Real Sociedad, Flick concluded: "We are not happy but it's just one game and I hope for a good performance. We have to take more chances in front of goal."
