The arrival of a player like Marcus Rashford generated huge excitement, both in Barcelona and across the European football scene. Signing a world-class talent added even more firepower to an attack that was already among the most feared on the continent. The English winger has settled seamlessly into Hansi Flick’s side. Injuries elsewhere and his own strong performances have seen him play plenty of minutes and establish himself as an important figure in the blaugrana squad. And that confidence is also producing goals.
Three out of three
Rashford has become a real problem for opposing defences, and his numbers back that up. He already has eight assists this season, making him Barça’s second-highest provider behind Lamine Yamal, who has ten. His goal tally stands at seven, and he has now also become the first player in the squad to score in this season's Champions League, LaLiga and, most recently, the Copa del Rey.
Those goals have delivered valuable points in both Europe and the league, while his cup strike helped calm nerves in a tie that had turned awkward against Guadalajara. A clear asset for Flick and his coaching staff.
