FC Barcelona's defence of their Copa del Rey title is about to get under way. Hansi Flick's team enter the draw which will take place on Tuesday 9 December at 1pm CET for the last 32 of the competition with ties to be played on 16/17/18 of this month.
The blaugranes claimed their 32nd Copa del Rey title in 2024/25 with Jules Kounde's goal giving them an extra time victory over Real Madrid in the final played in La Cartuja stadium in Madrid.
Title defence begins away from home
The four teams competing in this season's Spanish Super Cup - FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Athletic Club - enter the cup at this stage of the competition with possible rivals being Atlétic Balears from the Segunda Federación and Eldense, Guadalajara, Real Murcia, Talavera de la Reina and Ourense from the Primera Federación.
Whoever comes out of the hat, Barça will be facing a one-off away tie to played on 16/17/18 December in between league at home to Osasuna and away at Villarreal.
If Barça make it past lower league opposition in the last 32 then the last 16 will come in the week of 14 January, shortly after the Spanish Super Cup. A potential quarter-final will come the week of 4 February and the two legged semi-final on 11 February and 4 March.
The final of the Copa del Rey is yet to be scheduled but let's hope that Barça can be there in search of their 33rd victory in the competition.
