CD Alcoyano 3-2 Barça Atlètic: Late punishment
So frustrating! Barça Atlètic fell 3–2 at Alcoyano in a match with a cruel ending. Belletti’s side played over an hour with ten men after Sama Nomoko was sent off, yet still managed to equalise twice through Oduro and Mbacke before a stoppage-time header sealed the win for the home side.
The game began evenly, with chances at both ends. Nomoko set up Juan Hernández for Barça’s first attempt, but moments later the Malian was shown a straight red for a clash with Fran Moreno. With the extra man, Alcoyano pushed hard and finally broke the deadlock when De Pedro robbed the ball and picked out Chinchilla, who finished the one-on-one for 1–0.
Oduro work of art
After the break, Kochen kept Barça in it before the visitors threw everything forward. Oduro, Juan Hernández and Guille Fernández all threatened, and the match turned frenetic. Then came Oduro’s masterpiece. A direct strike from a wide free-kick flew into the top corner to make it 1–1 after 64 minutes.
Nasty ending
Alcoyano recovered quickly and Izan Llinares made it 2–1 just seven minutes after Barça's leveller, but the ten-man blaugrana refused to fold. Mbacke headed home from a corner to get the sides all square once again with just seven minutes of regulation time remaining.
With seven minutes added, Barça held on bravely, and it was all going to plan until the 94th minute, when Soler rose to head in the winner. Barça are now four points adrift of league leaders Poblense, second in the table for the moment, but there are teams below who play on Sunday.
