Winger Dani Rodríguez will not forget 3 March 2025 in a hurry. It was the day he made his debut for the FC Barcelona first team, in the starting XI no less for the trip to Valladolid. However, that debut was cut short after just 38 minutes when a collision with a rival defender led to a shoulder injury that meant the 19 year old was unable to continue and had to be replaced by Lamine Yamal.
A real shame for the fans and for the player as Rodríguez had shown a glimpse of his undoubted talents in the José Zorrilla before his unfortunate departure.
Dani Rodríguez at Barça
Dani Rodríguez arrived at Barça from Real Sociedad in 2020. After an excellent first season with the U16A side, the winger moved to the U19B squad and then the following year to the U19A.
In the 2023/24 season he combined appearances for the U19A team with outings for Barça Atlètic, making his debut in September 2023 in a 2-2 draw at home to Fuenlabrada. In total he made 13 appearances, one as a starter.
This season with the Barça Atlètic squad he has made 10 appearances - 3 in the starting XI - providing two assists, with injury hampering his playing time. Nevertheless, when fit he has shown his ability to beat defenders and shoot with both feet, a skill that allows him to start on the left or right.
