The squad for Napoli

Quique Setién names 21 players in his travelling party that's heading to Italy for Champions League action this week

Quique Setién has named his first ever Champions League squad. Barça are off to face Napoli on Tuesday at 9.00pm CET, and the manager will be taking the following players on the trip:

Ter Stegen, Semedo, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Arthur, Messi, Neto, Lenglet, Griezmann, Braithwaite, De Jong, Vidal, Umtiti, Junior, Iñaki Peña, Riqui Puig, Alex Collado, Ansu Fati, Ronald Araujo and Sergio Akieme.

That’s six members of Barça B in the team, with Luis Suárez, Ousmane Dembélé, Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto all out through injury, while new Danish signing Martin Braithwaite is going on the trip although he can’t play because he’s not registered for the Champions League.

Roberto out for 3 to 4 weeks

The latest casualty, Sergi Roberto, has been confirmed as having injured one of the adductor muscles in his right thigh and will be out for between two and three weeks.

Following the highly impressive 5-0 victory against Eibar on Saturday, the team started preparations for the return of European football with a morning workout at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. For the players that had featured the night before, it was a typical warm-down session, for which Iñaki Peña, Mingueza, Cuenca, Ramos Mingo, Akieme, Reis, Matheus and Ansu Fati the reserve team also featured.
