The Barça women have kept the winning form going with a 5-0 victory over Levante at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. The result was emphatic enough, but after hitting the woodwork no fewer than five times in the second half, the margin could have been wider still.
The game also brought Gemma Gili back to the club where she played from 2012 and 2019, and she was presented with a commemorative plaque to mark the occasion.
Levante have been having a fine season in the Primera Iberdrola, and had only conceded four goals in total, but today they would be on the receiving end of more than they had in all their previous games combined.
Barça took longer to score today than they have in any other game at their new stadium, Graham eventually getting the account open and the Norwegian was also on the end of the incident that led to a penalty on the stroke of half-time, expertly converted by Alexia.
After the break, Barça had their extraordinary run of misfortune against the woodwork, but just as it looked like the game would end 2-0, there was a late flurry of three goals in rapid succession. Jenni Hermoso claimed two of them (she has scored in every game played at the stadium thus far) and Hamraoui got the other.
Barça next travel to Zubieta to face the never-easy Real Sociedad.
