First league match, first win. Barça B won 2-0 against Badalona in the Municipal Camp of Montigala. Garcia Pimienta's side took the first three points of the season in a match where they had the initiative at all times. Abel Ruiz opened the scoring in the third minute of the game and Kike Saverio sealed the win late on.
First goal of the 19/20 season
The Blaugrana quickly showed how all the work done during this pre-season had paid off, with the Barça DNA soon seen on the pitch. Great distribution, together with possession of the ball, ended with the first goal as Guillem Jaime provided the assist for Abel Ruiz (0-1). In spite of some consistent Badalona pressure, the visitors maintained their defensive structure and got to the break still ahead.
Riqui Puig, in the 52nd minute, and as a result of his speed and ability, had the first chance to score in the second half, but his shot from outside the area was well saved. Sarsanedas (76 '), Kike Saverio (86') and Nils (92 ') all came on for Barça, as Puig again went close.
Recent signing, Kike Saverio, took advantage of Alex Collado's pass to score another goal in injury time and confirm the victory.
Premiere of the Johan Cruyff Stadium
The first league win was a great start for Garcia Pimienta's side, and the Blaugrana are optimistic about their official debut at the Johan Cruyff Stadium on September 1, against Nàstic Tarragona (7.00pm CEST).
