Cata Coll signs until 2023

Barça has arrived at an agreement with the Spain Under-19 national team goalkeeper for the next four seasons

Cata Coll has signed a contract with FC Barcelona until 30 June 2023. She was accompanied at the ceremony by the director Maria Teixidor, and sporting manager Markel Zubizarreta. The goalkeeper will join the Spanish national team this Wednesday to begin preparing for the Under-19 European championships, which are being held in Scotland from 14 to 28 July.

Born in Mallorca on 23 April 2001, the 18-year-old goalkeeper is considered one of the biggest prospects in Spanish football. Last summer she was one of the captains for Spain’s historic triumph in the Under-17 World Cup, winning the golden glove award as best goalkeeper. Also in 2018, she was the runner up of the Under-20 World Cup in France. She was just 17 years old, but was the team’s starter.

What Cata Coll said

“Barça is a club with a lot of history, and I see they are truly focused. It’s a club with a future, and I am coming for that future.”
