Ludovic Fabregas was born in Perpignan, France, on 1 January 1996. The blaugrana player grew up in a region just to the north of Catalonia. An enthusiast of motorsports, he left motorcycle trials to dedicate himself professionally to handball. When he was 15, he was already 180 cm tall.
Fabregas joined the MHB Training Center in Montpelier, where he developed as a player. At the age of just 17, he debuted with the senior French national team, where he shared experiences with legends such as the former Barça player Karabatic, as well as Omeyer and Narcisse. He went on to make the leap to the first team in Montpellier, and in the final three seasons with the French team, he won awards like the best center and defender of the season in the French League. In the summer of 2018, he joined Barça, where he remained for five seasons.
While at the blaugranes, he became a mainstay in the team and one of the most important players both in attack and defence. During his five seasons wearing blaugrana, Fabregas was named best center in the Liga Asobal every season and twice in the Champions League. He scored 360 goals in 120 Liga games, while also scoring 287 EHF CL goals. These numbers helped he and his teammates win 29 trophies – five Ligas, five Copa del Reys, five Copa Asobals, five Catalan Super Cups, four Spanish Super Cups, two EHF Champions Leagues, two Super Globes and one Iberian Super Cup.
After this wonderful period, he signed for Hungarian side Veszprém in summer 2023, where he spent two seasons before returning to the blaugranes in summer 2025.
The pivot has also been a permanent fixture in the France team for almost a decade. Currently the captain, Ludovic Fabregas has won the European Championships, World Championships, and the Olympic Games with his national side.
One of the best pivots in the world and a player who can tip the balance in a side's favour. A leader in defence, the Frenchman is also a great goalscoring threat.
