Born in Reykjavik, Iceland on 24 July 2000, Viktor Hallgrímsson began his career with Fram Reykjavik before joining Danish side GOG in the summer of 2019 at the age of just 18.
After three seasons in Denmark, Halgrímsson signed in 2022 for Nantes de la Liqui Moly Starligue, one of the biggest teams in the world. The goalkeeper continued his development in France in domestic and European competition and also consolidated his place in the Icelandic national side.
A move to Orlen Wisla Plock then followed as well as a stellar performance for Iceland at the 2024 World Championships. In the EHF Champions League the keeper showed a 28% rate before making the move to Barça in the summer of 2025.
