Andreu Plaza

Andreu Plaza assume the role of FC Barcelona coach for the season 2016/17, replacing Marc Carmona. Prior to taking the job, he had been coach of the youth team.

Born in Girona in September 1958, he started his career as a coach at Bencarló (2003/04). After a spell with Canet (2004/06) and Finques Olesa (2006/07), he was in charge at Gestesa Guadalajara (2007/10) and Marfil Santa Coloma (2011), before joining Barça.

His work with the B team was rewarded when at the end of the 2014/15 season he was named best coach in the Second Division. That season his young side finished third in the league and the following campaign, 2015/16, they ended the campaign just one place lower in fourth.
