What a semi-final, culers! Barça will play in the Spanish Super Cup final at the Palau after overcoming Jaén in a game that had everything: swings in the scoreline, comebacks and, finally, a memorable penalty shootout, with eight attempts for each side (4-4; 6-5 on penalties).

Three minutes, three goals

The game got off to a frantic start. By the end of the first minute, it was already 1-1, and by the third Barça had turned things around after Raggiatti had taken advantage of Feixas coming off his line to put Jaén ahead (0-1, min 1).

Pito responded almost immediately, pouncing on a loose ball from the keeper (1-1, min 1), before finishing off a move involving Touré and Matheus to make it 2-1 (min 3).

Barça then took control and created a string of chances before Touré produced the third, turning inside the area and finishing past Espíndola (3-1, min 14).

From 3-1 to 3-4

Barça looked comfortable, but Esteban pulled one back shortly before the break (3-2, min 18) and struck again after the restart to level the semi-final (3-3, min 23).

The game became increasingly physical, with Dídac making several important saves, but Esteban completed his hat-trick in the 32nd minute to put Jaén ahead (3-4).

Barça were suddenly up against it. Mouhoudine came close to equalising before Míchel was initially sent off for preventing a kick-in, only for the decision to be overturned after a VAR review.

A crazy finish and a happy ending

Barça kept pushing and Matheus fired a spectacular strike inside the post to make it 4-4 with five minutes remaining.

Javi Rodríguez then took a risk by sending on Antonio as a flying keeper. Barça had chances to win it, but Sergio González was sent off for handball with 41 seconds remaining. Jaén attacked four against three, but Barça held firm to force a penalty shootout.

Jaén initially had the advantage, but Dídac saved their fourth penalty, from Rojas, to take the shootout into sudden death. There was even a VAR review to confirm a Jaén penalty that went in off the post and Feixas.

In the end, Dídac emerged as the hero before Mouhoudine converted Barça's eighth penalty to send the Palau wild.

Barça will now face ElPozo Murcia, who beat Palma in the other semi-final, in Sunday's final (6.45pm CEST). After this drama, it will take some doing to match the semi-final for excitement. But this time, there is a trophy at stake.
