Born in 1991 in Berwick-upon-Tweed close to the Scottish border, Lucy Bronze is considered one of the best footballers of the last decade and has plenty of top level experience. In England she has played for Sunderland, Everton, Liverpool and Manchester City (twice), and also had a spell at Olympique Lyon, where she won the Champions League three times in a row.

She was the winner of the FIFA The Best award 2020 and UEFA Player of the Year in 2019 and in her first season at Barça in 2022/23 she won the league, the Champions League and the Super Cup. 

Bronze played for England at the World Cups of 2013, 2015 and 2019, being named for the team of the tournament at the latter two, and helped her country to the semi-finals of Euro 2017. At the FIFA Awards in February 2023 the defender was named in the FIFPro XI for 2022 at the ceremony in Paris. 

In 2023 Bronze reached the final of the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand with the English national side, ending the tournament as runner-up following defeat to Spain. 

TECHNICAL PROFILE

Lucy Bronze is a right-footed full back with excellent fitness and who covers plenty of ground. She was had exquisite individual skills and is always a threat when she comes forward, with pinpoint passing and also a fine shot of her own. She is a very tough defender to outwit and is extremely insistent at helping her side to get the ball back.
