Became head coach in July 2024 after three seasons as Jonatan Giráldez' assistant

Born in Barcelona in 1993, Pere Romeu was one of Jonatan Giráldez' two assistant coaches during three very successful seasons. Romeu became first team head coach in July 2024 after Giráldez announced he was to depart. The Catalan coach works alongside Rafel Navarro, who has extensive experience after working with the coaching team since 2019.

After a period playing youth football at CP Sarrià and L'Hospitalet, Romeu joined the Club's male youth development staff in 2017, where he remained until 2020, starting with U8s and ending with the U16s, including coaching current men's first team player Gavi.

In 2020 he left to become assistant coach at Viitorul Constanta in Romania, before he joined the Barça Women's coaching team in the summer of 2021. During these past three seasons as Giráldez' assistant coach, Romeu has had a key analytical and game preparation role.

In his first campaign as first team coach Romeu claimed a domestic treble: league, Copa de la Reina and Spanish Super Cup. Moreover, the team reached the final of the UEFA Women's Champions League only to lose in a tight contest to Arsenal.
