The FC Barcelona Women's team coach Pere Romeu showed himself to be in confident mood ahead of Saturday's Champions League final against French side OL Lyonnes. Appearing before the press on Friday in Oslo, the host city for the 2026 final, the blaugrana admitted the "small details" will decide the showdown for the title.

"It's a final and lots of things can happen. Labels can be forgotten; performance, respect and teamwork is what's need to win the Champions League," asserted the coach after following Alexia Putellas and Caroline Graham Hansen into the press room at the Ullevaal Stadion.

Romeu also showed himself to be well aware of the strengths of his team's rivals. "Yes, they are physical and counter really well but if we can have the ball we will have to do things. Our objective is to compress the game as we have done all season." For the coach, starting the game well is key: "The only message is to go out at 100% from the start. We have worked on having our ideas clear from the first minute."

This season the coach has watched his side adapt. "You have to make decisions according to the game situations. It's important to be in control of the game and manage your emotions."

"A lot of players have developed a lot and I think the team has grown a lot. The coaching staff have done a great job in promoting young players for the Club's future."

The final will also be special for Romeu as he will come up against former Barça coach and now boss of OL Lyonnes, Jonatan Giráldez. "We have both learned a lot and we will continue to grow as coaches. It will be a demanding game decided by the small details," concluded the blaugrana boss.
