André Gomes joins the growing list of different Barça goalscorers over the course of the season

FC Barcelona earned a 4-2 win over Valencia on Sunday evening (Highlights, Match Report), with goals from Luis Suárez, two from Leo Messi, and one at the death from former Los Che man André Gomes.

The Portuguese international is now the 19th different Barça man to get on the scoresheet, leaving just Sergio Busquets and Javier Mascherano the only outfield players yet to get off the mark.

Here is a look at some of the other interesting stats and facts from the latest league win:

  • Neymar Jr, with 19 to his name, has recorded the most assists of any player across Europe’s top five leagues this season
  • With yet another two goals, Messi racked up his 100th brace for FC Barcelona: 69 in La Liga, 19 in the Champions League, eight in the Copa del Rey, two in the Spanish Super Cup, one in the European Super Cup and one in the Club World Cup:
  • The Argentine continues to add to his tally against Diego Alves, the goalkeeper he enjoys playing against the most. He has netted 21 times against the Brazilian.

  • Messi increases his lead at the top of the scoring charts - he is now on 25 for the league campaign, four more than teammate Luis Suárez. He is now on 41 in all competitions this season, the eighth consecutive campaign he has scored 40 or more.

  • Barça played more than triple the number of passes Valencia did (619 to 236), double the duels won (62% - 38%) and shots on goal (12 to 5) as well as possession (72% - 28%). The heat map below demonstrates where Barça were most apparent on the field.

  • Sergio Busquets made the most ball recoveries with ten, followed by Samuel Umtiti with nine.

  • Speaking of Umtiti, Barça continue their league winning streak with the young Frenchman in the lineup. Each of the 17 times he has started, Barça have won.
