FC Barcelona have won the 61st Festa del Gamper Estrella Damm, beating Al Ahly 2-1 on a special night at Spotify Camp Nou. Hamza Abdelkarim and Raphinha scored the first-half goals before Zizo pulled one back for the Egyptian side after the break.
The game followed the presentation of the 2026/27 squad to the 54,224 fans in attendance. Hansi Flick and Raphinha, acting as first captain, addressed the crowd before kick-off, while the new signings were given a warm welcome, with Rodri receiving the biggest ovation. It was also the first Gamper at Spotify Camp Nou in four years.
Barça on top from the start
Flick started with Kounde alongside Gerard Martín in central defence, while youngsters Xavi Espart and Hamza Abdelkarim were also included in the XI.
Barça immediately took control, pressing high and keeping Al Ahly pinned back for much of the opening period. Fermín caused problems with his runs in behind, while Raphinha had an effort blocked before sending a long-range strike narrowly wide.
The pressure finally told on 29 minutes. Raphinha combined with Balde, who reached the byline and picked out Abdelkarim in the middle. The Egyptian finished first time for his fourth goal of preseason and his first at Spotify Camp Nou, but chose not to celebrate against his former club.
Barça had chances to add another, with Xavi Espart seeing an effort cleared off the line, before Raphinha made it 2-0 from the penalty spot just before half-time. The Brazilian had won the penalty himself after reacting quickest to a loose ball inside the area.
Al Ahly hit back
Flick made six changes at the interval, with Dani Olmo and Anthony Gordon among those introduced, but Barça continued to threaten. Abdelkarim and Orian Goren both had opportunities early in the second half before Al Ahly suddenly found a route back into the game.
A quick counterattack on 51 minutes ended with Zizo controlling superbly before beating Joan Garcia to make it 2-1.
More changes followed, with Gavi, Adeyemi and Christensen entering shortly after the hour and Pedri, Bisiwu and Szczesny joining them later.
Barça see it out
Gordon thought he had restored the two-goal advantage, only for his effort to be ruled out for a foul by Abdelkarim in the build-up. The Englishman then forced El Shenawy into a good save, while Adeyemi twice went close to adding a third, including a fierce effort from the edge of the box that flew just over the bar.
There was one final opportunity to put the result beyond doubt. Gordon won a penalty in the 89th minute, but the Englishman was denied from the spot by El Shenawy.
The miss made no difference to the outcome, with Barça seeing out the closing moments to secure a 2-1 victory and lift the Festa del Gamper Estrella Damm trophy on its return to Spotify Camp Nou.
Preseason is now over, with Barça beginning their La Liga title defence away to Elche on Sunday.
