Rashford doubling up in Europe
The name of Marcus Rashford is sounding out once again amongst European football fans after a string of impressive performances for Barça under coach Hansi Flick. The English striker took a while to settle in but now he is beginning to show just why the blaugranes picked up him up on loan in the summer.
Brilliant performance in the Champions League
Tuesday's game against Olympiacos was another demonstration of just how decisive Rashford can be when he is on the field. Being able to play on both wings and as a central striker is a life saver for Hansi Flick and in the Champions League against the Greek side the Englishman put in one of his best performances since joining the blaugranes. Rashford not only scored twice but won a penalty to turn the game in Barça's favour with the score standing at 2-1.
Established in the XI
Rashford has started the last six game for Barça and in the Champions League he has now scored four goals, twice against Newcastle and two again versus Olympiacos, not forgetting an assist for Ferran's goal against Paris Saint-Germain. In the league he has been more of a creator with four assists and a goal in the game against Sevilla, totalling five goals and five assists in just 12 matches, an impressive return so far.
More of a fixture
Rashford's form is making him a valuable part of the starting XI for Hansi Flick, great news for a Barça squad hit by injury at the moment. With the likes of Raphinha, Lewandowski and Dani Olmo missing, the England international has become a fixture in the side and once they have recovered, the blaugrana coach knows he has plenty of talent going forward to rotate his starting XI and hopefully avoid the spate of injuries that has blighted the team at the start of the season.
