A great victory for Barça at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. After the loss to PSG in the UCL League Phase matchday two fixture, Hansi Flick and the squad wanted to win, and they did just that while putting on a superb performance against Olympiacos (6-1).

Fermín with the first hat-trick of his professional career and Rashford with another Champions League brace grabbed the headlines in a game that saw Lamine Yamal also score a penalty. Olympiacos' Hezze was sent off in the second half when Barça were ahead, and the match may have opened up, but a great team performance by Barça was the key to this triumph, the second in Europe this season.

First half brace from Fermín

Olympiacos came out very strongly, testing Tek's reflexes very early on (min 1), but Barça went on to prove more effective and go in at halftime with a comfortable lead. Fermín scored both blaugrana goals as he showed he is back fit from his recent injury. 

The first goal came not long after a great cross by Balde that led to Rashford shooting over the bar (min 4), as Lamine Yamal carried the ball, causing havoc, before the ball fell for the number 16 to open the scoring (1-0, min 7). The second came towards the end of the first half, as Fermín received a pass inside the area on the right from Dro Fernandez, before cutting on to his left to score and extend the lead (2-0, min 39).

Barça make strides

The second goal tempered the Greek side's efforts to draw to some extent, as they had been threatening themselves, but to no avail. They did get a reward for their efforts after the break, when El Kaabi scored. However, it was ruled out after a VAR consultation due to an earlier handball by Eric, and El Kaabi himself stepped up to score the penalty to make it 2-1 (min 53).

The renewed hope among the visitors took a blow again not long after, this time due to a second yellow card for Hezze after he struck Marc Casadó with his hand (min 57). Ten minutes later, Rashford was fouled by the keeper and up stepped Lamine Yamal to roll in the penalty (3-1, min 68) and leave it looking good for a home win.

Blaugranes grab more goals

Olympiacos were now a player and two goals down and the game was now a real challenge. Barça made the most of their advantage, first Rashford with a near post finish from inside the area (4-1, min 74), before Fermín got his hat-trick from an assist by Roony after great play by the Swedish substitute (5-1, min 76). Rashford wasn't finished either though, Pedri with the through ball for the Englishman to finish inside the near post again (6-1, min 79).
