Four more goals. That makes 151 so far in the 2024/25 season. A tally that could still rise further to surpass other historic records in the annals of FC Barcelona. For now, the team sits in eighth place in the list of highest scoring campaigns after an exhilarating 4-3 La Liga win over Celta.
Early on, Ferran Torres broke the deadlock against the Galicians. That strike brought them level with the goal-scoring record from the 2013/14 season, when Tata Martino was on the bench and players like Leo Messi and Neymar were among the scorers.
But the team wasn’t content with just matching that milestone. Barça had a 3-1 deficit to sort out and shifted into high gear to come back and rewrite the stats. Raphinha, with a brace, and then Dani Olmo turned the match around, taking Barça’s 2024/25 tally to 151 goals—placing them eighth in the club’s all-time rankings for most goals scored in a single season.
That’s 151 goals in 51 matches—an average of almost three goals per game. But there’s still a long way to go and plenty of room to climb in the rankings. At least nine fixtures remain: six La Liga matchdays, the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid, and the Champions League semi-final tie against Inter Milan.
Next up on the list are the 152 goals from the 2010/11 season, when Pep Guardiola was in charge and scorers like Pedro, Villa and Messi led the attack.
173 goals is the third best record—22 more than in the 2015/16 season, when players like Messi, Suárez, and Neymar were breaking records and dismantling defences. The same trio had already dazzled in front of goal in the 2014/15 season, also under the leadership of Luis Enrique. Still further ahead lie the 190 goals from the historic 2011/12 campaign, when Josep Guardiola’s side won over fans everywhere with a stellar Leo Messi.
Lewy top scorer
At present, the team’s attacking trio is made up of Robert Lewandowski (40), Raphinha (30), and Lamine Yamal (14). They’ve contributed the most to the goal tally, backed by two brilliant supporting players: Ferran Torres (17) and Dani Olmo (9). On top of that, another 14 players from the current squad have chipped in with goals during what has been a more-than-prolific season—one that still has plenty of football left to play, and who knows how much more to celebrate.
