- Vitor Hugo Roque Ferreira was born on 28 February 2005, and will become the youngest member of the senior squad, even more youthful than Gavi, who was born in August 2004.

- The 18-year-old already has two major honours. He won the Paranaense Championship as well as the South American U20 Championship, in which he topped the scoring with six goals.

- He also played his first full international for Brazil on 3 March 2023 against Morocco.

- That made him the youngest ever debutant for Brazil, at the age of just 18 years and 25 days, eight days fewer than the previous record-holder Ronaldo.

- Including reserve team players, he is the Barça's 47th Brazilian. The most recent have been Arthur Melo, Malcom, Neto, Emerson Royal and his new team-mate Raphinha.

- He is the fourth who also played for Athletico Paranaense, following on from Adriano Correia, Neto and Matheus Fernandes.

- He also played for Cruzeiro, which were also the former clubs of Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Geovanni, Sorín, Belletti and Maxwell.

- In fact it was most expensive signing either by the Curitiba-based club, valued at 24 million Brazilian reales (4-4 million euros).

- He wore number 9 at Athletico Paranaense, after having previously donned the 39 and 27 shirts.

- Vitor Roque is the 17th player to come to Barça directly from Brazil, so he's following the footsteps of the likes of Neymar Jr (Santos), Douglas (Sao Paulo), Yerry Mina (Palmeiras), Arthur (Gremio) and Emerson Royal (Atlético Mineiro), although the latter was loaned to Betis before being sold to Tottenham Hotspur.
