Alexia became the team's most influential player. Blessed with natural talent, she was equally effective as a winger or false nine, but above all as an outstanding playmaker in midfield. Her left foot was exceptional, and she possessed a remarkable eye for goal.

The success enjoyed by Barça Femeni in recent years cannot be explained without Alexia. Since joining the team, she helped them to ten Copa de la Reina titles, ten Liga F championships, six Spanish Super Cups and four UEFA Women's Champions League trophies. She was the first player to score at both the Estadi Johan Cruyff and the Camp Nou in the modern era.

Individual recognition followed in 2021, when she was named UEFA Women's Player of the Year and UEFA Women's Champions League Midfielder of the Season for 2020/21, a campaign in which she scored Barça's second goal in the final in Gothenburg. That same year she also won the Ballon d'Or and the Creu de Sant Jordi, becoming the first female footballer to receive the latter distinction. In 2022, she won the Ballon d'Or for a second consecutive year, becoming the first female player ever to retain the award.

In the summer of 2022, she suffered a knee injury that kept her out of action until 30 April 2023. She gradually returned to her best form and, in the 2023/24 UWCL final, scored the goal that sealed the club's third European title. During the 2024/25 season, she made 39 competitive appearances and scored 22 goals. The following campaign, she featured in 43 matches, scoring 20 goals, seven of them in the victorious 2025/26 Champions League campaign. When she left the club in May 2026, she was the all-time leading goalscorer in the history of Barça Femeni, with 232 goals.

Alexia has also been a true standard-bearer in the fight for gender equality in football. Among her most memorable statements is the following: "I play football because I love it and because I want the future for girls who want to play to be better than mine was. When I talk about equality, I mean equality of opportunity. All I want is for any girl who wants to play football always to have the chance to do so."
