Coach
Born in Kaunas, Lithuania on 5 March, 1976, Sarunas Jasikevicius is in his third spell at Barça after two stints as a player during which he claimed the Euroleague title in 2003.
On 2 July FC Barcelona announced that 'Saras' would be their coach for the next three seasons, adding to his four seasons on the court in a Barça shirt.
As coach of his previous team, Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania, 'Saras' won five consecutive league titles between 2016 and 2020 and three domestic cups in 2017, 2018 and 2020. His career as a coach began in 2014 after his retirement as a player as assistant coach to Gintaras Krapikas at Kaunas for a season and a half. In January 2016 he was named as first coach at the Lithuanian club.
With Jasikevicius as coach, Zalgiris performed well in the Euroleague as well, reaching the Final Four in 2018 and the Playoff the following season. In the cancelled 2019/20 season the Lithuanian side finished in 9th place, a victory away from the top eight.
