Forward
Àlex Abrines (1 August 1993, Palma, Spain) started out in basketball at La Salle school in his native Palma, and in 2010 was scouted out to join the youth setup at Unicaja Malaga.
He made his ACB debut just a year later, and scored 31 points against Estudiantes early in his career. Such performances drew him to FC Barcelona in the summer of 2012, where he’d win the league, Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup across four seasons.
In 2016-2017 he left for the NBA and the Oklahoma City Thunder. In two and a half seasons in the US, Abrines was consolidated as an important rotation player at the US franchise.
In the summer of 2019 and after not playing for half a season, he returned to Barça on a two-year contract.
Abrines is a shooting guard/small forward who can score with ease, including 3-pointers, and he is exceptionally good at taking on his man. From whatever the distance, the Balearic Islander always racks up excellent percentages.
