FC Barcelona is a FC Barcelona is a reference point around the world for its style of football, a way of playing that runs from the first team down to the youngest teams in the academy and it has become a manner of understanding football and life. The Club believes that it is this style that makes it different to the rest. Three professional teams, 13 amateur teams and four women’s teams make up the Football Academy at FC Barcelona.

More than 300 footballers form part of La Masia and they all share the same dream: getting to the first team.

To make a debut at Camp Nou alongside Iniesta, Messi, Busquets and Piqué or to play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League next to Lieke Martens, Vicky Losada, Alexia and Toni Duggan is their objective.

They are the future of Barça but to get there they have to follow a path along which everyone must speak the same language; philosophy of football in which the ball, the greatest treasure of all, will accompany them on their journey.

Learning to love it, respect it and above all enjoy playing with it. That is the key, what makes the difference.

Possession of the ball is a great force for the blaugrana teams and passing it around is the greatest tribute one can pay to the game of football.

It requires time to take in this language but when the more than 300 boys and girls who form the football academy at FC Barcelona can converse in it fluently, as have so many players over the last few decades, is when they realise that the Barça model is now inside them and they are ready to make the leap to the Camp Nou or the Miniestadi as so many have done before such as Amor, Guardiola, Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Sergio, Pedro and Sergi Roberto amongst others, as have Leila Ouahai, Olga García, Aitana Bonmatí in the women’s game.
