Vidal: 'I'm happy to share the dressing room with great players'

The Chilean player reflects on different aspects of his life in an interview conducted in the Barça dressing room

On the occasion of his arrival at the Club, Barça TV broadcasts 'Welcome, Arturo,’ an interview with the Chilean midfielder in the changing room of the Camp Nou in which the player reflects on his football beginnings, his family and what it means to become a Barça player.

About Barça

“I’ve never been able to play at the Camp Nou, so when I walked onto the pitch for the first time it was incredible. I hope to score and to be able to feel the appreciation of the crowd.

"I want the games to start in order for me to be part of this dressing room."

Arturo Vidal, the football player

“I’ve had to make many sacrifices and I want to show everyone where I’m from.

"Everything I’ve gained on the field, I feel proud about because I leave everything on the pitch, nothing has been easy for me."

Difficult beginnings

"When I was young I lived in a dangerous neighbourhood. I had a very hard childhood, my mother took care of the five brothers alone, and she sacrificed a lot. Thanks to her I can now give her a better life.

"When I was a kid I couldn’t sign for Colo Colo until I was 12, and the first time I tried, we didn’t have enough money for the journeys or equipment; we needed the money at home."

Playing alongside Messi

“He’s the best in history, for who he is and what he does! I am very happy to share a dressing room with him and with all the great players that are in the team."
