FC Barcelona have four players through to the World Cup semi-finals after Ivan Rakitic and Croatia defeated tournament hosts Russia on penalties in the last of the four quarter finals.

After repeating their 1998 success of reaching the last four, Croatia now have a chance to go one better by reaching their first ever final. To do that, they’ll have to beat England at 8.00pm CET on Wednesday night.

Barça is already assured at least one representative in the final. The other semi-finals pits Samuel Umtiti and Ousmane Dembélé’s France against Thomas Vermaelen’s Belgium.

Les Bleus defeated Luis Suárez’s Uruguay 1-0, while the Red Devils won 2-1 against Philippe Coutinho and Paulinho’s Brazil.

France and Belgium go head to head on Tuesday night at 8.00pm CET.
